JODY BRASSFIELD-ENGLISH, Controller |
|
As WEI's Controller, Jody is responsible for the accounting functions of the organization, including producing the financial statements and managing the annual audit. Jody has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Portland State University. Her background includes six years in public accounting and over ten years in office management. She lives in northeast Portland with her husband, two dogs, two cats, and a flock of chickens. In her spare time, Jody likes to read, watch movies, travel, and sing karaoke. |

TAI DANFORTH,
Director of Communications and Marketing |
|
As Director of Communications and Marketing, Tai is responsible for WEI's monthly newsletter, quarterly magazine, member communications, and incubating new programs at the direction of the Board and Executive Planning Committees. She started at WEI in 2008 as a Program Manager responsible for a diversity of meetings including Energy Management, Energy Efficiency, Underground/Overhead, Materials Management, Spring Energy Symposium, Business Acumen for Emerging Leaders, the Northwest Electric Meter School and the Customer Connections Executive Forum. Tai graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Geography, and has over ten years of marketing communications and program management experience. She enjoys skiing and numerous creative hobbies ranging from the paper arts to fashion design. Tai was born in Seoul, but considers the northwest her native town as she has lived here over 25 years.

MARILYN HARRINGTON, Manager, Member Services |
|
Marilyn oversees the administration, maintenance and enhancement of WEI's database. Other responsibilities include the processing of all registrations and membership dues, managing accounts receivable and providing accounting support to the Controller. Marilyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Portland State University and has enjoyed donating her time to various institutions including Cat Adoption Team, Hawthorne House, Portland Public Schools, and Junior League. She and her husband, Bruce are life-long residents of Oregon and have three children, two dogs, one cat, and a pond full of Koi.

KAREN HIMES, Webmaster |
|
Karen is responsible for WEI's Website with duties including development, maintenance and database integration. She also assists in developing onsite materials for WEI's Programs. In addition to being with WEI off and on since 1994, Karen was the Office Manager at WhidbeyNet where duties included Internet sales, technical support, and customer service. Karen volunteers at Lewis & Clark Elementary and McBride Elementary, assisting students with reading and art. Additionally, she is a Den Leader for the Cub Scout Tiger Cub Den. Karen is married with 2 sons, 10 and 7 years old. In her spare time, she enjoys sailing, gardening and spending time with family.

CHRISTOPHER LEE, Program Manager |

Christopher is involved with a handful of programs at WEI such as the Smart Grid Forum, Operations Business Strategies-Electric Conference, Operations Conference and the Spring Energy Symposium. In addition to these programs, Christopher also contributes to WEI's marketing and communications. Prior to joining WEI, Christopher received a Master of International Management degree from Portland State University with specializations in Marketing and Sustainability. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Kalamazoo College where he majored in Chemistry and East Asian Studies. Having held an internship at the Citizens' Utility Board of Oregon, Christopher is familiar with some of the challenges facing the utility industry and brings five years of marketing and business experience to WEI. Christopher enjoys gardening, traveling, snowboarding, playing basketball and sampling the many microbrews that the West Coast has to offer. |

DARCY NUTTER, Program Manager |

Darcy is involved in a variety of different programs including General Counsel, Business Acumen, Spring Energy Symposium and the Operations Conference. She also works with hotels on contract management and contributes to WEI's marketing and communication efforts. Darcy graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Advertising, and has over eight years of marketing and planning experience. She is a Colorado native who was drawn to the Northwest in 2007 for the ample outdoor opportunities, and in her spare time enjoys hiking, camping, running, photography, graphic design and travelling. |

BECCA PETERSEN, Senior Program Manager |

Becca began her career with Western Energy Institute in 2008 as an Event Coordinator. She has been promoted twice in her short career as she continues to demonstrate excellence in program delivery. She focuses on delivering WEI's technical training schools and classes, a leadership development course, and the Human Resource Executive Forum. Becca graduated from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has over eight years of program management and event planning experience. She enjoys working with the community and has volunteered with numerous nonprofit organizations to advance the support and treatment of women. As Southern California natives, Becca and her husband, Scott, now enjoy living in the Northwest.

EMILY SCHWARTZ, Office Manager |

As WEI's Office Manager, Emily serves as ground control for our busy Program Managers and President. She is the point person for ensuring the smooth operation of our office, from procedure implementation to making sure everyone has pens. With over 5 years of customer care and administrative management, and an additional 8 years of experience in contract and job administration specifically in utility construction, Emily brings the highest level of knowledge and professionalism to our office. She lives in SE Portland and spends her free time reading, playing recreational volleyball, volunteering for social service organizations, and blogging on a variety of topics. Her goal is to get to know every member of WEI, and she looks forward to hearing from you! |

TARINN SMITH, Program Manager |

Tarinn works within a number of different programs including two of WEI's larger meetings, the Spring Energy Symposium and Operations Conference. Tarinn graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Education and earned a Master's in Public Health from A.T. Still University. She has wide-ranging program planning and implementation experience working with state government and non-profit organizations. Tarinn has lived in various locations along the West Coast and has enjoyed Portland's diverse surroundings and volunteering with organizations focused on children's health issues and sustainability. She has affection for the outdoors and likes to cook for and spend time with her friends and family. In her spare time, Tarinn is known to be snowboarding, backpacking, investigating the local scene and being around those she loves. |

KEVIN SULLIVAN, Program Manager |

| Kevin is responsible for a variety of programs including executive and industry forums, and skill development schools. He also serves as WEI's Service Company Liaison responsible for attracting new members, retaining current members, vendor display management, and ensuring that service company's reach a high level of satisfaction with their membership. Kevin joined WEI with a background as a Senior Recruiter in the technical recruiting industry. He recruited high level engineering candidates, serving the heavy industrial, hi-tech, and energy sectors for his clients throughout Oregon. Kevin Graduated from Oregon State University with a Business Marketing Degree. He enjoys playing basketball and golf, and spending time with his family and friends. |

DIANA ZOREN, Senior Program Manager |
|
Over the past 14 years at WEI, Diana has taken on various roles and responsibilities resulting in a deep understanding of WEI's members. As a Senior Program Manager, Diana focuses on delivering executive and industry forums, working closely with the board committees and senior executives to successfully build new programs. Before coming to WEI Diana developed her strong sense of customer service through 13 years in the banking industry. Prior to the banking industry, she was an instructor of Microsoft Office products and worked in accounting. Diana has completed various courses throughout her career which include accounting, business principles, various levels of the Appraisal Institute program, Executive Management courses and American Sign Language. Diana and her husband, Jim, have two daughters and four grandchildren. Diana spends her time volunteering for Columbia County School District, local youth sports and relishes her time in the great Northwest outdoors.
