Clearance Officers
The member companies below require clearance through designated clearance officers. The clearance officer's role is to serve as a central point of contact. WEI sends promotional materials intended for employees of a utility that employs a clearance officer directly to the clearance officer. The clearance officer distributes the materials, along with a request that all employee responses be directed back through the officer. This procedure gives the utility overall visibility of how many employees company-wide are attending a given event and allows the utility to maintain necessary department coverages.
The clearance officer is also the point of contact with regard to employees who serve as volunteers. WEI sends a formal request for the service of each individual who has volunteered to the clearance officer of that individual's employer. The clearance officer then has a clear, company-wide view of how many employees from each department are serving as volunteers, as well as the capacity in which they serve.
Certain member companies require partial clearance. Questar requires clearance for participation on committees and for attendance at the annual meeting only.
