Western Gas Market Review - September 2008
Western Natural Gas Prices Canadian Gas at Kingsgate, ID The August 2008 average daily price of Canadian gas at Kingsgate, ID was $7.33/mmBtu. This was 39.2 percent higher than the $5.26/mmBtu August 2007 average and 20.7 percent higher than the $6.07/mmBtu August 2006 average.
Rocky Mountain Gas at Opal, WY The August 2008 average daily price of Rocky Mountain Gas at Opal, WY was $5.72/mmBtu. This was 81.0 percent higher than the $3.16/mmBtu August 2007 average and 5.0 percent lower than the $6.02/mmBtu August 2006 average.
Southwestern Gas at the Southern California Border The August 2008 average daily price of Southwestern gas at the Southern California Border was $7.74/mmBtu. This was 33.0 percent higher than the $5.82/mmBtu August 2007 average and 14.2 percent higher than the $6.78/mmBtu August 2006 average. Intercontinental Exchange
Working Gas in Western Underground Storage Net gas injections for August 2008 totaled 32 Bcf, increasing Western underground storage levels to 378 Bcf. This volume is 7.1 percent lower than the August 2007 storage level of 407 Bcf and 0.8 percent above the five year average August storage level of 375 Bcf. U.S. Energy Information Administration
Western Natural Gas Production Natural gas production in the Western U.S. for the 12 months ending in August 2008 averaged 11.5 Bcf/day. Western Rig Count The Western states rotary rig count for the week ending August 29, 2008 was 405, a increase of 30 rigs or 8.0 percent from the year-ago count. It is an increase of 13.1% over the five year average August rig count of 358. Baker Hughes
