Atmos Energy Corporation Elects Kim Cocklin to Board of Directors, Promotes Kenneth Malter to Vice President, Gas Supply and Services Atmos Energy Corporation announced that Kim R. Cocklin has been elected to its board of directors. Cocklin, who is President and Chief Operating Officer of Atmos Energy, joined the company in June 2006 as Senior Vice President, Regulated Operations and was promoted to his current position effective October 1, 2008.
Prior to joining Atmos Energy, Cocklin was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Piedmont Natural Gas Company from 2003 to 2006. Before that, Cocklin was Senior Vice President of Williams Gas Pipeline, in charge of the operations of Texas Gas and Central Pipelines. Cocklin holds a bachelor of science degree, as well as a master's degree, from Wichita State University. He earned his J.D. degree from Washburn University School of Law.
"Kim is a proven leader in our industry and he has contributed greatly to our company's success," said Bob Best, Chairman & CEO, Atmos Energy Corporation. "We look forward to benefiting from his experience and contributions as he assumes this new and important role with the company."
The company also announced that it has promoted Kenneth M. Malter to vice president, gas supply and services, reporting to Mr. Cocklin. Malter succeeds Mark S. Bergeron, who previously was named president of Atmos Energy Holdings, Inc.
"Kenny has the education, experience and background to lead our gas supply and services group," said Cocklin. "We are excited and pleased with his addition to our leadership team."
Malter, 42, has more than 20 years of experience in the natural gas industry. He has worked as Atmos Energy's director of gas supply and services in New Orleans since 2007. He joined a predecessor to Atmos Energy's Louisiana Division, Louisiana Gas Service, in 1998 as manager of contract administration. In 2001, he moved to the predecessor of Atmos Energy Marketing, LLC, in gas supply operations. Malter earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Louisiana State University and an MBA from Tulane University. He is married and the father of triplets. He will continue to office in New Orleans. |
