Idle Clearwater Port LNG Proposal Terminated The California State Lands Commission has officially terminated Clearwater Port’s application to construct an LNG terminal off the shores of Oxnard, California.
The company had already abandoned its application over a year ago, citing market and legislative uncertainties and trouble meeting state design standards.
Despite this, NorthernStar Natural Gas, parent company of Clearwater Port, recently renewed its option to lease or buy the oil platform that would have been the facility’s site. Joseph Desmond, a senior vice president with NorthernStar, said the company was positioned to propose a new LNG project at that location sometime in the future. |
