Community Health Clinic and Housing for the Mentally Ill Benefit from Avista Foundation Grants
The Shoshone Community Health Clinic in Osburn, Idaho, will receive $3,000 to support low-income medical and dental programs as part of the second quarter 2010 grants made by the Avista Foundation. In Moscow, Idaho, a $1,000 grant will help fund the roof repair for Alliance House, a facility serving persons diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
“Shoshone Community Health Clinic provides essential medical and dental services to area residents without insurance, many of whom are either unemployed or seasonal workers who are laid off from jobs,” said Patty Shea, Avista’s regional business manager for north Idaho. “Providing basic health care is essential to their well-being and continued employability.”
“We are partnering with others in the community to complete the new roof on the Alliance House in Moscow,” said Paul Kimmell, Avista’s regional business manager for Pullman-Moscow. “A sound roof on the facility will protect the structure and allow the Alliance to continue offering safe housing for these vulnerable individuals.”
