El Paso Electric Names Mary Kipp Senior Vice President and General Counsel

The El Paso Electric Board of Directors has promoted Mary E. Kipp to serve as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Previously, Ms. Kipp had served as El Paso Electric's Vice President of Legal and Chief Compliance Officer.

 

In her new position, Ms. Kipp will continue to have responsibility for oversight of El Paso Electric's legal affairs and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

 

Ms. Kipp has 15 years of experience as an attorney and has spent most of her career practicing energy law. Before joining EPE, Ms. Kipp spent four years as a senior enforcement attorney in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Office of Enforcement in Washington, D.C., where she investigated and prosecuted violations of federal energy laws. Before entering government service, Ms. Kipp was an attorney at Greenberg Traurig LLP and at El Paso Natural Gas Company.

 

Ms. Kipp received a bachelor's of arts degree cum laude from Williams College in Massachusetts, a juris doctor degree from the University of Texas School of Law, and is an alumnus of Exeter College, University of Oxford.

 

Ms. Kipp is a native of southern New Mexico. She is a member of the Energy Bar Association and serves on the board of the El Paso Opera.
