"We're honored to receive this ENERGY STAR award," said Southwest's Chief Executive Officer Jeff Shaw. "Through our participation in ENERGY STAR programs, we work with home builders to bring today's home buyer a high performing, energy-efficient home. Since energy issues are at the top of our nation's agenda, it's important we all do our part to promote energy efficiency. We're proud to be part of programs that bring products and services to our customers that will help them use energy wisely. More than 20,000 ENERGY STAR certified homes have participated in Southwest's new construction program throughout the years."
ENERGY STAR homes provide features and amenities that include tighter construction, improved insulation, tightly sealed ducts and advanced-design windows.
