ATCO Electric Donation Helps Move Stettler Sports Park to First Base Thanks to a $25,000 boost from ATCO Electric, planners for Stettler’s new outdoor Sports Park are able to move ahead with the initial phase of the facility’s construction.
“With many of our employees, customers and their families living in rural communities across Alberta, ATCO Electric is pleased to support valuable community efforts that not only enrich the quality of life of our service communities, but also enhance community spirit and strength” says Sett Policicchio, President of ATCO Electric.
Stettler Mayor Dick Richards and Lee Penner, Director of Parks and Leisure Services, were at the Recreation Centre to receive ATCO Electric’s donation. “This gift is truly something special for the people of Stettler,” said Mayor Richards. “Because of ATCO Electric’s generosity, we can continue to move forward with construction of this world-class facility that will not only be used by local residents, but also by families and sports teams in the surrounding areas.” Set to open in the fall of 2011, the Sports Park will feature four baseball diamonds, two soccer pitches, a playground, walking trails, and ample parking for both recreational vehicles and general motorists. |
