FERC Puts Jordan Cove Re-Hearing Decision on Indefinite Hold Coming up against a February 19th deadline for responding to requests for a re-hearing on its approval of the proposed Jordan Cove Energy Project, the FERC issued a tolling order that allows it to make a decision on its own timeline.
Following the FERC’s 3-1 ruling in favor of the proposed project in December, environmental groups, Oregon’s governor, the National Marine Fisheries Service and one of the project’s backers, Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline, requested another hearing.
Pacific Connector wants the agency to allow it to pass development costs on to customers. The other petitioners are concerned about the impacts—environmental and otherwise—of siting an LNG terminal on Coos Bay. The tolling order means the FERC has no deadline for its decision on the re-hearing requests. |
