Jagjeet S. Bindra Joins Edison International and Southern California Edison’s Boards of Directors Edison International and Southern California Edison announced that Jagjeet “Jeet” S. Bindra, retired president of Chevron Global Manufacturing, has been elected to the board of directors of each company, effective today.
“We are pleased to welcome Jeet Bindra to our boards of directors,” said Theodore F. Craver, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Edison International. “Jeet has a distinguished track record in the energy industry and has a keen strategic understanding of capital intensive businesses.”
Bindra, 62, served as president of Chevron Global Manufacturing from 2004 until his retirement in 2009. In that capacity he was responsible for Chevron Corp.’s worldwide refining operations. During his 32-year career at Chevron, Bindra also served as managing director and chief executive officer of Caltex Australia Limited, president of Chevron Pipeline Co. and senior vice president, Pipelines, Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc.
Raised in India, Bindra came to the United States in the late 1960s to pursue a graduate degree in chemical engineering. He joined Chevron Corp. in 1977 as a research engineer and served in many leadership roles while at Chevron, leading up to his appointment in 2004 as president of Chevron Global Manufacturing.
Bindra is a member of the board of directors of Larsen & Toubro Limited in India, Transfield Services Limited in Australia and Sriya Innovations Inc. in Kennesaw, Ga. Bindra earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India, holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and has an M.B.A. degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif. |
