Project Management PDT

The Project Management Program Development Team is responsible for the strategy and structure of the annual WEI Program Management Industry Forum. Bringing together PMO leadership from across western North America, this team identifies the opportunities and challenges in the PM role, selects speakers and topics, and provides oversight for the planning subgroups supporting the Project Management summit.

Keith Sutton is the manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) at Southwest Gas corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is responsible for managing an IT portfolio of over $46M with 11 Project Managers.

Prior to joining Southwest Gas in 2014, Mr. Sutton was President and CEO of a small business in San Diego, California — Syzygy Technologies, Inc. As President, he grew the business from its founding in 1996 to $13M annual review and 80 employees in 2012. Syzygy Technologies was recognized four times as the Small Business of the Year in San Diego by the San Diego Business Journal.

Prior to Syzygy, Mr. Sutton worked as a software tester and engineering manager for multiple companies including Northrop Grumman and ManTech International.

Mr. Sutton earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Old Dominion University in 1983. He also earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of San Diego in 1993.

In 2005, Old Dominion University honored Mr. Sutton with an award as the engineering department’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year.

Mr. Sutton is a past president of the International Test and Evaluation Association (ITEA) San Diego chapter and previous Board of Directors member with the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). Mr. Sutton is also an active member in the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE).
