Tech & Talk: Using Technology and Communications for Customer Impacted Work
Speakers: Aaron Quilici, Operations Supervisor – DMDP, Southwest Gas Corporation
Lisa Flynn, Manager, Process Improvement, Gas T&D Operations, Pacific Gas and Electric Company
Bad Dog? Locked Gate? Trouble Communicating with the Customer? Gas and Electric utilities are required to perform safety inspections and maintenance to ensure the integrity of their assets. But what happens when you can’t get in? Access issues like locked gates, meters in garages or language barriers limit our ability to access a customer premise. PG&E has a new team in place responsible for reducing access issues and missed compliance dates through proactive communication with the customer, technology-based solutions, and coordinated safety inspections.
This session will focus on a variety of solutions and data insights from several pilots, some successful and some unsuccessful, to crack the access barrier with customers. The discussion from different utilities will offer up new avenues for working directly with your customers to complete regulated inspections and maintenance of utility assets. Many of these process improvements can be taken directly back to your companies to implement immediately!
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
