Strategic Planning (Nov 07-08)

WEI's Strategic Planning program provides a forum for members responsible for their company's strategic plan to come together to discuss opportunities and threats, changing business models, tools and techniques for getting leadership to engage and act in strategic issues. This annual forum provides a collaborative space for members to focus on strategic issues and compare strategic planning processes at member companies.

  • Member: $349 USD

    Registration price increases $50 after October 15, 2019. Registration includes meeting materials, hosted dinner on Thursday, breakfast, and lunch on Friday, and refreshments throughout the program. Guest tickets are available for $100 and allow a personal guest (a spouse or partner who does not work in the energy industry) to accompany a registered attendee at the event. Guest registration includes all meals and receptions, and all program materials.

  • General Cancellation Policy
  • Due to contractual obligations, cancellations received 15 business days prior to the program will receive a full refund. Cancellations received 6 to 14 business days prior to the event will receive a refund, less a $100 administrative fee. No shows and last minute cancellations, 5 business days prior to the event or less, will be responsible for the full registration fee. Substitutions from your organization for the same event are always welcome.
  • Participation Policy
  • Western Energy Institute programs and events are open to energy companies (including gas production and electric generation, gas and electric transmission and gas and electric distribution utilities). Select programs and events are open to energy industry product and service suppliers. Programs and events are closed to all media representatives and to the general public.

Scenario Planning - 1 Year Later/Follow Up

As a follow up to the scenario planning that SRP presented on last year they have since developed 2035 strategic goals and created 6-year implementation plans for line organizations and critical support organizations. They will give an overview of the process and what it means for business units.

  • What are your processes for identifying and tracking emerging trends? Who participates in these processes?
  • To whom are these trends communicated, how are they communicated, and how frequently are they updated?
