  • General Cancellation Policy
  • Due to contractual obligations, cancellations received 15 business days prior to the program will receive a full refund. Cancellations received 6 to 14 business days prior to the event will receive a refund, less a $100 administrative fee. No shows and last minute cancellations, 5 business days prior to the event or less, will be responsible for the full registration fee. Substitutions from your organization for the same event are always welcome.

  • Western Energy Institute programs and events are open to energy companies (including gas production and electric generation, gas and electric transmission and gas and electric distribution utilities). Select programs and events are open to energy industry product and service suppliers. Programs and events are closed to all media representatives and to the general public.

Talent Management Suite and Philosophy

A talent management philosophy can serve as a “blueprint” for making effective decisions when bundling all HR systems and processes into a comprehensive Talent Management suite. This session is designed to provide examples of the types of philosophies used to drive decision making and integrate not just a LMS but all HR systems. The discussion will seek to identify the types of reports an integrated HR system can generate, how to best use this data to address challenges faced by talent management professionals, and how to create synergy among all stakeholders.

Ensuring that organizational change furthers your business goals instead of creating chaos can be a difficult task. Determining how to effectively align the company's culture, values, people and behavior during a time of transformation may mean the difference between engaging your employees and sinking morale. What role do leaders play and how can they be engaged as potential change agents? The group will use this session to discuss best practices and critical steps for change management at every level.

Strategies surrounding knowledge transfer remain at the forefront of talent management professionals’ suite of responsibilities.  Even organizations with a clear strategy surrounding knowledge transfer find that questions remain. Who owns – or should own – the process? How much information really needs to be recorded? What tools should be utilized company-wide, and what should be customized to each group? Come prepared to dive in to this topic by sharing your organization’s current status in the fight to ensure valuable knowledge stays within the team, as well as your perspective on how to best balance the inheritance of existing knowledge and the often prevalent desire for change.
