Alan Jones

Alan Jones is responsible for the strategic management of Pacific Gas & Electric’s Smart Meter Network and leads new product development for the utilities next generation energy management solutions. As a leader in the PG&E’s Meter Services and Engineering group, Alan works with technology partners to deploy innovative solutions required to service the 10 Million customers across our diverse and expansive Northern California Service Area. Currently, his team is collaborating with Wireless carriers, Systems integrators and Software developers to deliver cloud based IOT services that deliver connectivity to IOT edges devices; EV charging initiatives and small cell deployment of 4G LTE digital services to meet the demands of citizens and businesses.
Alan has over 20 years of wireless systems design and operations, large scale consumer marketing program and product management experience. He has worked across a variety of industries including energy, telecommunications, semiconductor manufacturing and consumer electronics.
BS Electrical Engineering, Northeastern University and MBA from University of San Francisco.
