Alice Massara is currently a Business Performance Supervisor for Tacoma Power, Tacoma Public Utilities. Her two current projects include 1) improving the efficiency, communication and reporting functions for the utility’s budget planning process; and 2) developing a utility wide strategy to address the key people-management challenges associated with an aging and changing workforce.
Prior to this, she worked in a number of leadership positions gaining experience in both the Human Resources and the operations side of the business. Her understanding of both line and staff roles has shaped her approach to how she gets work done.
Alice studied Human Resources, Strategic Planning and Budgeting while earning her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from City University of Seattle. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Washington, a Utility Management Certificate from Willamette University, and is credentialed as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR and SHRM-SCP).
