Angela Thompkins

Angela Thompkins has dedicated her life to pursuing inclusion, advancing equity and advocating for all people. In her position as Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, Thompkins leads the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) and Strategic Talent Sourcing team for Consumers Energy. In this role, Thompkins is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s DE&I strategic intent to recruit and retain a diverse workforce. She has gained recognition leading diverse teams, with over 15 years’ experience in various roles such as, Automotive Lobbyist; Trial Attorney; Adjunct Professor and within Human Resources in the automotive and foodservice industries. Thompkins enjoys community and professional enrichment serving on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, Equality Michigan, American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) Michigan, NPower Detroit and the Advisory Council for the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan.
