Ben Rushwald was born and raised in Seattle, WA. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating he moved to Nicaragua for 2 years where he designed and built water distribution and electrical systems for rural communities. He returned home to Seattle where he obtained a Masters of Engineering from the University of Washington with a focus on energy systems. He currently works for Seattle City Light as the Electrical Service Engineering Manager where he leads a team of engineers who design and manage the largest customer driven projects in Seattle. His current focus is in two major areas: he is a major contributor to implementing a continuous improvement culture as well as leading the transition for customers affected by a new, large substation in Seattle’s downtown core. Intensely curious, he reads a wide variety of topics about leadership, group dynamics, and brain science.
