Brian Cole

Brian Cole is the Director of Transmission & Distribution Engineering, at Arizona Public Service – a subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corp. In this role, he is responsible for transmission and distribution planning, distributed energy resource integration and analytics, transmission siting, engineering design and standards, GIS, system protection, engineering controls, interconnection development & contracts, and overall transmission and distribution system health and asset management. Prior to this he was the Manager of Term Trading for APS where he was responsible for longer term energy sales and the APS hedge program. Prior to that, he also had leadership roles in the areas of Power Procurement where he was responsible for long-term power procurement of both conventional and renewable resources on behalf of APS’s retail customers and in the Resource Planning Department. He has over 25 years of experience in the utility industry. In addition to transmission and distribution engineering, marketing and trading, power procurement, and resource planning, his experiences have included time in front of the Arizona Corporation Commission, power plant engineering & operation, independent power provider, and FERC interconnection and transmission rules.

Mr. Cole has earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University as well as a Masters degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
