Britt Bachtel-Browning

Britt Bachtel-Browning is the Chief of Privacy and Data Ethics/Senior Counsel at Avista Corporation in Spokane, Washington, where she provides legal advice to variety of business segments on topics such as intellectual property, data privacy, data governance, policy and employment matters. Britt received her law degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and both during, and after law school, she worked for large law firms, the Copyright Office, Trademark Office and the Recording Industry Association of America, and also served as judicial clerk to the Honorable George Hastings, Jr. of the United States Court of Federal Claims. She is licensed to practice law in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and the District of Columbia. Britt moved back west in 2005 and lived in Oregon for several years working as an Assistant Attorney General for the state, then moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2011 to work for Avista. She adores Coeur d’Alene and lives on the lake with her husband and three Labrador Retrievers and is very active in the community.
