Craig Kreinest

Craig Kreinest is the Team Lead for Electric System Hardening Engineering and Design at SDG&E. He began his career as an electric distribution engineer for South Carolina Electric and Gas and worked his way up to Electric Distribution Crew Quarter Manager. Following a move to San Diego, he worked as a consultant on SDG&E’s Fire Risk Mitigation program before joining SDG&E in the Electric System Hardening department. Craig started on the Distribution Strategy team. The focus for this group was on scoping projects using a combination of data driven models, real-world conditions, operational knowledge, etc. in order to best reduce fire risk in SDG&E’s backcountry. In his current role he ensures that the scope from Distribution Strategy is executed using consistent engineering and design methodology along with robust QA/QC. Craig holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a PE in California.
