With over 26 years at SRP, Dean Duncan has made a remarkable impact on the financial and strategic success of SRP. Currently Senior Director of Strategy at SRP in Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. Duncan leads an exceptional team of professionals responsible for managing SRP’s strategy, archives, and economic development.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Duncan was SRP’s Corporate Treasurer. In this role, he successfully managed a team responsible for addressing SRP’s financial plan/budget, retail pricing, long term investments (e.g., retirement fund), cash levels, and borrowing needs.
Preceding Mr. Duncan’s success in the Treasury area, he served as Manager of Financial Planning where he was responsible for extensive analysis on a variety of financial matters facing SRP. Financial Planning also assembles SRP’s 6-year Financial Plan and one-year Operating Budget. While in Financial Planning, Mr. Duncan played a significant role in navigating SRP through the “great recession” of 2007-08.
Earlier roles at SRP include serving as Analyst in and Supervisor of the Corporate Pricing department. There, Mr. Duncan had responsibilities for a wide variety of investment decisions, pricing issues, and he led his team to unbundle SRP retail electricity prices in preparation for retail electric competition.
Prior to joining SRP, Mr. Duncan worked in retail personal computer industry in sales, customer training, and customer support providing him with highly valuable insight into the customer side of business.
Mr. Duncan holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from Grand Canyon University and an MBA from Arizona State University.
Dean is the proud father of 3 adult children, Jessica, Becca, and Jack. He has many interests including technology, golf, bike riding, running, hockey, and curling.
