Thomas Smith

Thomas W. Smith, is a Fellow of the Institute of Asset Management, a member of the IAM Faculty and a recipient of the IAM President’s award. He is also a Director of the IAM-USA. He is recently retired from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and retains Emeritus status with the University. He is the founder of the University’s award winning Master of Engineering degree in Engineering Management and continues his involvement in this field. Tom began his academic career as a researcher in the U.W. Institute for Environmental Studies, and spent many years working in the areas of environmental impact assessment, energy management and energy conservation. He currently serves as an U.S. Delegate to the International Standards Organization (ISO) Technical Committee on Asset Management.
