Eric Bongen

Eric has been in the safety field dating back to early 2015 when he started his career in the Shoring and Trench Safety industry. For 4 years Eric was a local market leader in shoring equipment sales and competent person training services during his time at Cascade Shoring. In mid-2018 Eric made the jump from the sales/service side of the industry over to the contractor realm and took over as the Safety Director for Moore Excavation, Inc. located just outside of Portland, Oregon. Moore Excavation (MEI Group) is one of the largest heavy civil excavation companies in the Portland Metro area. In 2020 alone Moore Excavation completed nearly $65 Million in work executing nearly 250 utility locate tickets. Along with his duties as the Safety Director at MEI, Eric also is a board member for the Northwest Utility Contractors Association (NWUCA) and is the chair of their Safety Advisory Group.
