Evelyn Cortez-Davis

Evelyn Cortez-Davis, P.E., BCEE is the Assistant Director of Water Resources at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the largest municipal utility in the nation. She is a civil engineer with over 25 years of engineering experience in the water utility industry. She currently leads a team to plan the water supply for the 4 million people in the City of Los Angeles, including capturing more stormwater, conserving, and expanding the use of recycled water and groundwater. She serves on the Labor-Management Committee to expand engineering recruitment efforts to meet the organization’s gender equity, diversity, and inclusion goals. Ms. Cortez-Davis led the launch of the LADWP Society of Women Engineers Professional Affiliate Group in 2018 and serves as the group’s first Executive Advisor. She is a first-generation graduate of UCLA, a registered Civil Engineer in California, and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer.
