Frankie McDermott

Frankie McDermott is the Chief Energy Delivery Officer at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), overseeing Power Generation, Grid Assets, the Sacramento Power Academy and SMUD’s Commercial Development team. Energy Delivery’s work is at the core of SMUD’s mission—generating and delivering reliable and affordable electricity to customers, with a focus on safety and environmental responsibility.
McDermott held several leadership positions across SMUD prior to his current role. Before joining SMUD, he held senior management roles in the semiconductor industry in California and Ireland. He attended engineering school in Ireland, earned an MBA from Golden Gate University, and completed the Berkeley Advanced Management Program at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
