Greg Reimer was appointed BC Hydro’s Executive Vice-President of Transmission & Distribution in June 2010. Greg brings extensive operational experience and strong leadership to Transmission & Distribution, which was formed in July 2010 with the integration of BC Hydro and the BC Transmission Corporation.
In his executive role at BC Hydro, Greg is responsible for over 2800 employees that plan, design, build, operate and maintain the systems and assets needed to deliver electricity safely and reliably to BC Hydro’s customers. Greg’s portfolio currently encompasses over $1.5B in annual investments in the system and include such major undertakings as the Northwest Transmission Line project, the Interior-to-Lower Mainland Transmission project, the Dawson Creek/Chetwynd Area Transmission line, and BC Hydro’s Smart Metering and Infrastructure project. In addition, Greg is responsible for BC Hydro’s Aboriginal Relations activities, as well as being a co-executive sponsor of BC Hydro’s Safety Task Force. Greg also recently led a major strategic multi-year Transformation of BC Hydro’s T&D organization that is increasing operational efficiency, improving safety performance, building a more reliable, modern electricity grid, and meeting the growing customer expectations.
A Certified General Accountant by profession, Greg held senior leadership positions in the public sector, including Deputy Minister of Provincial Revenue and, most recently, Deputy Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.
