Hema Sundaram

In her role as a chief data officer at Portland General Electric, Hema facilitates data-driven decisions by monetizing or leveraging the data that PGE collects. Within IT, she leads a team of business analysts, data architects, data engineers, data scientists, platform administrators, and managers. She and her team work with business partners to engineer new, more efficient processes and creative solutions enterprise-wide.
Her career path has included roles as application developer, data architect, business architect in customer service, systems integrator implementing large scale-platforms (SAP), and content management and data governance roles in the oil, gas and utility industries.
