James McGowan

James McGowan is Certified Safety Professional, a Certified Utility Safety Professional, and an internationally recognized, dynamic training professional. James is employed by Houston, TX based Quanta Services Inc. as the Director, Safety Training. James has more than 38 years of combined experience in safety, training, and power delivery system construction. James is a former journeyman lineman and has worked in all aspects of the power-transmission and distribution industry utilizing the hot stick, live-line bare-hand, and rubber glove method.
James is involved in various standards and rulemaking committees and is a current member of Task Team II for the OSHA Electrical Transmission & Distribution (ET&D) Partnership. James played a lead role in the development and continued implementation of the ET&D Partnership 10-Hour OSHA outreach training course and the newly revised ET&D Partnership Safety Leadership in Action (AKA OSHA 20-Hour) outreach training course.
James lives in Northern Kentucky with his wife of 29 years, Julia. James has three children; Christopher, Melissa, and James Aaron. James’ interests include travel, adult learning, reading, and public speaking.
