Jason Cameron

Jason Cameron manages the Sacramento Power Academy, the entity responsible for overseeing technical skills training for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s approximately 500 skilled trades professionals. Jason and team oversee 12 Federal and/or State certified apprentice training programs ensuring SMUD’s dedicated skilled trades professionals are highly trained and prepared to support our customers and community. Previously Jason led the nationally recognized PG&E PowerPathway program, a workforce development effort designed to expand the talent pool of qualified candidates in the utility industry. At SMUD Jason continued his support of workforce development and led the development and implementation of SMUD’s first skilled trades workforce development program, Powering Careers.

Jason holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Boise State University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Northwest Nazarene University. When not at work Jason enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
