Jeff Millar

Jeff Millar is a Senior Public Safety Specialist with Pacific Gas and Electric Company. His role on emergency events is to serve as the PG&E Agency Representative, coordinating and integrating PG&E’s restoration efforts with the public safety agencies’ emergency response. Jeff has had a 39 year career in emergency response and resource management and he retired as a Battalion Chief from CAL FIRE in 2011, after 30 years of service.

During his career he worked in nearly every program area within CAL FIRE, including operations, Conservation Camps, Emergency Command Centers, Fire Prevention, Resource Management, and Aviation. He was a member of CAL FIRE’s Incident Management Team 6 for 13 years, having served as the team’s Liaison Officer, Operations Section Chief, and Deputy Incident Commander. He is also a qualified Type 1 Incident Commander.

Following CAL FIRE, Jeff worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assigned as an Operations Branch Director on one of FEMA’s Type 1 National Incident Management Teams. Assignments with FEMA included managing the federal response to the Colorado Flooding, the Washington mudslide, and the recent Unaccompanied Children Influx on the Southwest Border.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from UC Berkeley.
