John Barnick

Mr. Barnick has 45 years’ experience in the electric power industry with Westinghouse Electric Corporation, ABB Inc., and Hitachi Energy. He has held positions in engineering, testing, project management, consulting, education, training, marketing, sales, corporate strategic marketing, sales management, and business development. He is focused on the evolving electric power industry due to deregulation, distributed energy resources, and the automation of Transmission & Distribution systems. The primary focus has been on real time control operations systems for T&D utilities and generation companies. Experience includes working with ISO/RTO market operation systems, SCADA, GMS, EMS, OMS, and ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management Systems). Mr. Barnick is a member of and has held chapter positions in the IEEE Power & Energy Society, was a member of the NRECA TechAdvantage Advisory Group, and served on various regional electric utility technical and advisory committees. He has authored technical papers, taught graduate level power system courses, and made many technical presentations regarding the evolving electric power industry.
