John Egan

John Egan, president of Egan Energy Communications, works with public power communicators and marketers across the country to turn their stakeholders into advocates. He does that by writing high-impact copy that lessens friction with customers and other stakeholders. Prior to founding EEC in 2009, John was a research director at E Source for nine years. Earlier in his career, he led the media relations function at public power utility Salt River Project and then founded and operated SRP’s competitive intelligence function. Before SRP, John was an editor and reporter at The Energy Daily in Washington, D.C. He received his MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
