I have been employed by the City of Seattle for 12 years – I obtained my B.A. from Evergreen State College with an emphasis in Environmental Studies and Social Science and I obtained my Master of Public Health from Capella University, and I am also a certified Project Manager.
My work experience is varied – I have been and environmental intern, worked for U.S. Congress, a temporary project worker, a project manager for affordable housing development, a real estate agent and developer, as well as a banker. What my previous positions have in common is, they are all in service to something or someone other than myself. As the WMBE Manager for Seattle City Light (SCL) that is what I do – I am in service to my internal clients as well as to the outside contracting community. My directive and mission are to highlight opportunities within SCL for women and minority contractors to participate in the process. I highlight the benefits of working with firms that would not normally have the opportunity to compete – highlighting their abilities as well providing access to a network that can provide a backstop for any weakness they may have.
