Kim Walker graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Metals and Materials Engineering. Kim spent almost 10 years working in the oil industry in Northern Alberta. During this time, she focused on testing materials for erosion resistance in the abrasive tar sand environment, the development of welding procedures and analysis of failed material components. For the past six years, Kim has worked for FortisBC focusing on development of welding procedures and standards. This includes the development of live line welding procedures and welding of high strength pipe material.
