Kirsten Petersen is the Distribution Strategy team lead in SDG&E’s Electric System Hardening group. Within this team, the company’s data-driven methodology is applied to scoping, prioritization, and alignment of distribution projects ranging from Reliability to Wildfire Mitigation. Since starting her career with SDG&E in 2014, Kirsten’s roles have collectively supported wildfire mitigation and resiliency: first as the engineer on SDG&E’s Falling Conductor Protection project in System Protection Automation and Controls Engineering and then later through developing, simulating, and testing automation for battery energy storage and microgrid projects in the Distributed Energy Resources team. Kirsten received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.
