Laura Vo

Laura Vo earned her bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety Science from Sacramento State University. She has an extensive background working in Health and Safety with the City of Sacramento Police and Fire Departments and continued her profession when she joined SMUD in 2008.

As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for SMUD, Laura is responsible for monitoring safety efficiency of the utility’s processes, including COVID-19 protocols, to minimize workplace hazards and risks. She plans, develops, and facilitates safety training and programs to reinforce SMUD’s safety guidelines and regulations.

Laura also managed their Wellness Program where SMUD was recognized as the Healthiest 100 employers in the Nation, five years in a row and making the Top 10 list in 2018. She is proud to work for a publicly owned and operated utility that has long been a leader in clean energy and carbon reduction. Laura truly values her position within the organization allowing her to work with employees, customers, and members of the community.
