Marchelle Watson has over twenty-five years of experience in the energy industry. At present she manages the Transmission Commercial Systems division at the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). She is responsible for the technical monitoring and implementation of BPA’s transmission scheduling operations. This includes program initiatives developed for and implemented throughout the Pacific Northwest. She has lead a wide range of strategic and operational studies focusing on operational excellence, process improvement, organizational change and performance evaluation.
With expertise in navigating change, leading through uncertainty, and reading an evolving environment, Marchelle’s success relies on opening her mind to the possibilities that the future holds. Prior to her role in the Transmission Business unit, Marchelle was the director of Strategy Execution leading process improvement efforts and LEAN projects for BPA’s major strategic initiatives.
Ms. Watson started her federal career in the US Army as a Chemical Specialist. She is a 22 year veteran who has participated in humanitarian assistance missions throughout the world.
She is a certified practitioner of the Prosci Change Management methodology, and a holds a LEAN practitioners certificate. She is a graduate of Portland State University with degrees in Political Science and Urban Studies and Planning.
A native of Portland, Marchelle is passionate about helping out in her community, devoting her time to her three kids, and enjoying her outdoor hobbies: golfing, skiing and running.
