Marko Aaltomaa

As Manager of Network Services for FortisBC Electric for the past five years, Marko Aaltomaa is responsible for electric T&D line operations in the Kootenay area, including emergency response to outages, operations, maintenance, construction and dispatch. He is also responsible for the operations related to the system control centre which monitors and controls the generation, transmission and distribution systems for FortisBC.

Prior to his career with FortisBC, Marko worked as a consulting engineer with experience in electrical design, construction and commissioning in the industrial and utility sectors. Since joining FortisBC in 2004 he has held other management positions in planning, customer design and in the system control centre.

Marko is a registered professional electrical engineer in the province of British Columbia. He enjoys mountain biking, skiing and camping with his family.
