Mary King

Mary King graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and joined the US Army as a 2LT in the Signal Corps. She served as a Platoon Leader and Executive Officer while stationed with the 123rd Signal Battalion in Germany, was promoted to Captain, and served as the Signal Officer for the MI Battalion supporting the 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, NY.
After six years with the Army, Mary transitioned to civilian life and began working for Indianapolis Power & Light. Initially, Mary focused on learning the utility business as a front line supervisor for maintenance & construction teams, the call center, the emergency response center, and then meter operations. After five years, she transferred to a Labor Relations role and began her pursuit of a law degree. Mary graduated from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis and became the chief negotiator for Indianapolis Power & Light. She is an inactive member of the Indiana State Bar Association.
After moving to California in 2007, Mary worked initially for Calpine and then transitioned to Pacific Gas & Electric Company in 2009. At PG&E, Mary has worked in roles as a negotiator in Labor Relations, HR Business Partner in Human Resources, leader of the recruiting function, and as the Chief of Staff to the President of PG&E. She currently serves as the Vice President in Human Resources and as the company’s Chief Diversity Officer. She is currently serving in an interim leadership role overseeing all of Human Resources for PG&E.
