Michael Mangan
Mike Mangan uses his experience as a business leader, trusted advisor, and military officer to lead DEKRA Insight’s global research and development efforts. Mike brings diverse consulting experience to conducting research, and developing cutting edge services targeted to reduce exposure at the working interface and improve client safety performance.
Mike has led his team in developing advanced culture and leadership assessment tools for both organizational and process safety. They have also created a safety analytics offering applying sophisticated statistical methods to client incident data. Mike’s team has also worked to develop an integrated safety change process for first and second level operational leaders and new interventions targeting the reduction of Serious Injury and Fatality potential in the workplace.
He has worked with government agencies including the FAA, FRA, USMC, and Amtrak, as well as private sector clients in the chemicals, healthcare, metals, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, rail mass transit, and nuclear utilities industries. His experience includes leading the design and implementation of unique leadership assessment projects for executives of diverse organizations, including a large office products manufacturer, a global aerospace company, and an international pharmaceutical company.
Mike is also the global leader for Safety in Action conferences around the world. Safety in Action fosters a learning and improvement community, sharing lessons, commitments, and supporting our joint objective to reduce injuries around the world.
Prior to joining DEKRA Insight, Mike led numerous selection, competency modeling, and culture change engagements for a wide variety of organizations, including the implementation and evaluation of a large technology company’s sales leadership transformation initiative. He is also a former platoon commander and battalion training officer in the United States Marine Corps.
Mike holds a doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from Ohio University.
