Michael Merriss

Michael Merriss has 20 years of professional customer service, including at the Ritz Carlton – Half Moon Bay and North Ridge Country Club. He has spent the last 8 years at Sacramento Municipal Utility District working various roles in the Contact Center with a constant focus on providing world class service. Michael was instrumental in some of the biggest initiatives at SMUD including Residential Time-of-Days rates, commercial rate restructure, and solar interconnection. He has a passion for employee engagement and has been a member of the Operations Engagement Team (E-Team) for 4 years running, with 3 years as the team lead. In 2020, Michael coordinated over 25 separate events to build engagement as the workforce went from in office to virtual.
