Mike Barnett is a Physical Security Consultant, Western Operations, Corporate Security, Safety and Health, at Dominion Energy. In this capacity, Barnett conducts internal and external investigations; is responsible for corporate emergency response and evacuation plans; manages contract security; collects and disseminates intelligence and threat information; and conducts risk, facility security, and threat assessments for Dominion Energy facilities and operations in Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. He liaisons and works with federal, state, and local law enforcement; regulatory agencies; industry organizations; and security groups and associations.
Barnett joined Dominion Energy/Questar Corporation in 2014, when he retired after more than 23 years as a Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Barnett was a Special Agent Bomb Tech, Weapons of Mass Destruction Coordinator, Evidence Response Team Leader, Hazardous Evidence Response Team Leader, Joint Terrorism Task Force Coordinator, InfraGard Coordinator, and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Prior to his career at the FBI, Barnett was a Certified Public Accountant at Deloitte.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Master of Accountancy from the Brigham Young University and his Master of Arts in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a CPA, NRA certified pistol instructor, and ASIS Professional Certified Investigator.
