Parag Upadhyay

Dr. Parag Upadhyay is a Senior Member of IEEE and is working as a Principal R&D Scientist at US Power Grid Research Center, an ABB-Hitachi joint venture located at Raleigh, NC, USA. He specializes in strategic technology planning, technology assessments and R&D, project management and leadership in the area of static and rotating electrical machines, drives and electromagnetic device. Dr. Upadhyay has significant work experience over 25 years and an R&D professional track record developing novel technologies, identifying and mitigating the engineering challenges to bring it to higher technology readiness levels (TRL). Dr. Upadhyay has been a principal investigator and project manager for the US Department of Energy funded project “Novel Concept for Flexible and Resilient Large Power Transformers”. He is also leading renewable interface transformer activity at ABB.
