John Quinn

John is a professional mechanical engineer and holds a master’s degree in electrical energy systems with 21 years of experience in the energy sector. He brings a broad understanding of the energy industry having held leadership roles in energy focused organizations in Ireland, the UK, and Canada. With FortisBC since 2012, John has delivered over $1 billion in major capital growth projects while also fostering internal corporate support for hydrogen as a low-carbon fuel. In his current role managing the Renewable Gas Supply business unit, John also leads FortisBC’s hydrogen development including business planning, alignment with corporate goals, and engagement at all levels of government and with key stakeholders. John is also progressing various innovative hydrogen initiatives including a first of its kind project in North America to study the feasibility of hydrogen deployment throughout FortisBC’s provincial service territories using existing the existing gas system.
