Randy Spacek

Randy Spacek has over 36 years’ experience in the electric utility industry. He has performed the role as System Protection Engineering Manager since 2009 at Avista. As manager, he is responsible for NERC compliance activities in the area of Protection Relay and Control (PRC), design and development of Protection and Integration systems for the Transmsission, Distribution, Generation and technical support efforts of the utility.
Presently Randy is active as the chair of the WECC Relay Work Group, a member of the NERC MIDAS Work Group, a member of the EEI Protection and Control Committee for the T&D Metering and Mutual Assistance Conference and an Advisory Board Member to the University of Idaho College of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Randy has been a member of the WPRC steering committee and provided training at the Hands on Relay School.
