Dr. Ellis is the Senior Manager of Transmission Operations Engineering in Electric Grid Operations at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company in San Francisco, California. Prior to joining PG&E in 2004, she worked for General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York. She has extensive electric power industry experience in power system analysis, regulatory, infrastructure protection, strategic planning, controls, processes, and real-time operations. Also, she has supported testimony and developed work papers for Electric Distribution Technology in PG&E’s regulatory filing and has facilitated business case development to enable a multi-year technology roadmap. Most recently, Dr. Ellis leads an organization that provides engineering analysis to real-time grid operations, develops operating requirements and procedures, supports NERC Reliability Standards, and ensures delivery of safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy.
Dr. Ellis received her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and her M.S. in the Electric Utility Management Program from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is an active Senior Member of IEEE and currently serves on the Western Electricity Coordinating Council’s Event Performance and Analysis Subcommittee. Dr. Ellis is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.
