Sarah Almujahed

I am the Strategy Manager for SDG&E’s Wildfire Mitigation Department. In my current role, I lead the development of wildfire mitigation strategies based on risk modeling. My most recent work included the development of circuit risk models that provide insights for both operational decision-making during fire season as well as long-term decision-making for grid hardening. Prior to my current role, I was a Risk Manager in the Enterprise Risk Management Department supporting the company’s process for assessing and mitigating enterprise risks. I also spent 6 years of my career as a consultant for electric utilities across the US guiding the development and improvement of risk management programs and the implementation of risk-based decision-support tools. I hold a BS in Systems Engineering from George Mason University and I’m currently pursuing an MBA from the University of Illinois. Outside of work, I enjoy art, music and travel. I also have a passion for supporting youth and empowering women which has led me to volunteer as a ‘Big Sister’ for Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. Given my background as an immigrant from a war-torn country, I am open to opportunities where I can support immigrant and refugee youth in their transitions to enable them to maximize their opportunities and reach their potential.
