Scott McKinney

Scott McKinney is a geotechnical engineer with 10 years of project experience throughout the western U.S. As part of POWER Engineer’s Boise office, GeoSciences Department he supports overhead transmission line foundation design and construction monitoring. He specializes in geotechnical investigations, shallow and deep foundation analysis and design, settlement, slope stability, retaining wall, and soil/rock anchors.

POWER supported the PSE Energize Eastside Project which will upgrade of 18 miles of transmission line from 115 kV to 230 kV from Redmond to Renton, Washington as Owner’s Engineer. Specifically, Scott supported the project as Lead Foundation Engineer to optimize transmission structure foundation types, depths, and diameters. He also evaluated foundation options in sensitive residential areas, evaluated seismic conditions, and evaluated pressures exerted from the foundations on nearby pipelines and coordinated these calculation methods and results with the pipeline engineering team.
